“I will NEVER stop writing and performing music.” -Joe Barrientos

Joe Barrientos is an extremely gifted musician from Lewisville, Texas. He moved to College Station, Texas in October 2010 with hopes of gaining a better perspective on music in general. He enjoys all kinds of music from country, to rock n roll and soul. He has always been fond of the guitar and began asking his parents for one when he was only in the 2nd or 3rd grade. While he waited to receive his guitar he learned to play the keyboard. He finally received his first guitar when he was 11. He gives a special shout out to hardcore metal bands like Slipnot and Pantera because they directly influenced his guitar playing and gave him a taste of the wide variety of vocal abilities at a young age. During his teenage years, he toned down the hardcore metal music and began playing the acoustic guitar and listening to country music. In the past few years, he has admired Chris Cornell’s music. “I find his solo stuff and his acoustic performances to be unreal with amazing song writing. He also has amazing vocal ability to deliver songs in an emotional way.” Joe has had plenty of influences in his lifetime. He uses his influences and his surroundings to continually reach a higher level in his music every day.

Later on, Joe decided to attend college at the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor degree. While enrolled he played music for the local school district to supplement his income in college. He laughs about it jokingly saying, “It wasn’t a bad job, and I wouldn’t mind doing it for the rest of my life if I had to, but dealing with kids is a pain in the ass”. He is currently changing his sound from country and reverting back to the hard rock style. He recently completed a single with Clayton Gardner who is an up and coming country singer. They are both excited to see where the new single takes them and their careers.

Joe has already come a long way in his music career. From his first garage band performing in talent shows, to playing in clubhouses, friends’ backyards, on bar scenes in the Texas capital, to now leading his band. He has always enjoyed music and everything that comes with it. The artists’ biggest struggle is wondering if he did everything he could to push his solo career as much as he could. He continues to tour every weekend with his band. In the future he plans to tour the U.S. either solo or with his band. “Either way I will never stop writing and performing my own music”. Joe Barrientos’ wide range of influences and familiarity with different genres of music gives him the versatility to reach all audiences of all ages. He will continue to promote, promote, and promote to reach as many fans as he can. You can find more of his music at www.reverbnation.com/joebarrientos.

Although, Lane is currently the starting fullback for the Miami Dolphins, he hasn’t always had love for football. “My first love has always been basketball. It wasn’t until 6th when I moved back to Lufkin from Houston that I was introduced to football. I went to my Uncle’s house and my Aunt said he and my cousins were out back playing football and that I should go join them. I didn’t care for football at all so I was like I won’t play but I’ll go watch them. When I got back there I saw how much fun my Uncle and cousins were having while playing football. That day my Uncle taught me football and ever since then I never looked back.”jorvorksi lane1

DUCE of Bread Winners Music Group

“I’m just here to find my lane and take off full steam ahead once in it.”

Straight out of Killeen, Texas is the talented Courtney ‘Duce’ Mitchell. An artist on the Breadwinner Music Group (BWMG) label, Duce has the heart and the team he needs to make major moves in the music industry. Duce’s career started off as a hobby with C. Stone and himself freestyling for fun, and quickly grew into something with enormous potential. Duce says, “We would do live freestyles imitating what DJ Screw originated and having fun rapping…we ended up putting all the songs on one CD for us to listen to, but once our peers heard it everyone wanted their own copy. That’s when I knew this was something I could do.” He knew that he wanted to pursue entertaining because he knew that it was something he could be successful at and make his friends and family proud. But of course this industry isn’t all good all of the time, it has its disadvantages. The loss of three of his close friends and mentors to lengthy penitentiary sentences struck a huge blow to Duce. It disbanded their rap group and left Duce by himself. Obstacles are nothing new to any underground artist these days though. It’s all about how you bounce back. “My way of overcoming this was just to keep pushing. I know that was all they would want from me—to represent and hold them down. And I did; I am.”
